About
Clover Meadow Campground sits at high elevation in the Sierra National Forest, nestled among lodgepole pine and fir trees along Clover Meadow. This small, primitive campground offers a quiet basecamp for exploring the nearby Ansel Adams Wilderness, with multiple trails departing from the area for backcountry adventures. The campground provides basic amenities including vault toilets, drinking water available from a hand pump, and each site has a picnic table and fire ring. There are no fees to camp here, and sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day stay limit. Access requires a drive of approximately 52 miles from North Fork via Minarets Road (Forest Road 81), taking about 1 hour and 45 minutes. High-clearance vehicles are recommended, and the maximum vehicle length is 20 feet due to narrow, winding road conditions. The access road closes in winter, limiting the camping season to roughly June through October.
