About

Lower Chiquito Campground offers a quiet camping experience along Chiquito Creek in the Sierra National Forest, accessible via the scenic Minarets Road. The campground sits beneath a canopy of cedar and pine trees, providing welcome shade during warm summer months. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table, grill, and fire ring. This is bear country, so proper food storage is essential. Campers should also come prepared with mosquito repellent. The nearest services, including gas, food, and fishing supplies, are available at Wagner's Store, the only gas station along the Minarets Road. The campground operates seasonally from June through September and is first-come, first-served. Sites accommodate up to 6 people. Vault toilets are available, but there is no potable water on-site, so bring an adequate supply.
