About

Fresno Dome Campground occupies a pleasant forested setting on Boggy Meadow next to Big Creek in the Bass Lake Ranger District of Sierra National Forest. The campground features 15 well-spaced sites shaded by fir and pine trees, each equipped with a grill, picnic table, and fire ring. A campground host is on duty during the operating season. The main draw here is proximity to Fresno Dome, a granite dome accessible via a moderate trail that rewards hikers with outstanding views of the San Joaquin Valley, surrounding Sierra Nevada peaks, and evidence of past glaciation. The campground sees light use, making it a good choice for those seeking a quieter alternative to the busier Bass Lake area campgrounds. Campers should come prepared: no potable water is available on site, and all trash must be deposited at the collection point near the campground entrance. Access is via a combination of paved and dirt roads. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations.
