Union Creek Campground is a well-developed recreation area nestled among ponderosa pines on the north shore of Phillips Reservoir in the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest. Located 18 miles south of Baker City via Highway 7, it offers over 60 sites across three loops with varying levels of amenities. Loop A provides full hookups with electric, water, and sewer connections. Loops B and C offer water and electric hookups, while separate walk-in tent camping and overflow areas accommodate those seeking a simpler experience. Four group sites can host large gatherings of up to 60 people. The campground is part of the Union Creek Recreation Area, which includes a day-use picnic area and boat launch. Phillips Reservoir provides excellent opportunities for fishing bass, trout, and perch, as well as swimming, motorized boating, and waterskiing. The Phillips Lake Shoreline Trail offers scenic hiking and mountain biking, connecting to form a 16-mile loop around the lake. A concession stand/store operates on site during the camping season. Flush toilets, potable water, and picnic tables are available throughout the campground. The parking spurs are paved and gravel, accommodating RVs of any size. An RV dump station is available for a separate fee. Reservations are handled through Recreation.gov, with senior and access pass holders receiving a 50% discount on camping fees.
