Tygart Lake State Park Campground occupies a prime location in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains in north-central West Virginia, approximately three miles from the park's east entrance. The 36-site campground overlooks the 10-mile-long, 1,750-acre Tygart Lake, created by the Tygart Dam on the Tygart Valley River. Ten sites offer 50-amp electric and water hookups suitable for RVs, while the remaining 26 standard sites accommodate tent campers and smaller rigs. The campground operates seasonally from spring through fall, weather permitting, and offers modern amenities including shower facilities, flush restrooms, and a dump station located near the beach area. Wi-Fi is available throughout most of the campground, though signal strength weakens at sites 28-40. Reservations can be made online, by phone, or at the campground office, with a two-night minimum required for weekend stays. The park provides excellent water recreation opportunities including boating, water skiing, swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and scuba diving. Pets are welcome on leash throughout the campground. The maximum stay is 14 consecutive nights, with check-in at 1 p.m. and checkout at noon.

From Grafton, head south on County Road 9 for approximately 3 miles to the park's east entrance. The campground is located at the end of the park road, about 3 miles from the entrance.
