About

Audra State Park campground sits in a heavily wooded hollow along the Middle Fork River in southwestern Barbour County, West Virginia. The 65 campsites offer a rustic mountain camping experience with river access for swimming, fishing, and kayaking. Sites range from electric hookups to primitive tent camping, spread through the forest canopy. The campground is well-equipped with two modern bathhouses featuring flush toilets, a dump station for RVs, coin-operated laundry facilities, and a camp store selling firewood, ice, snacks, and camping supplies. A centrally located playground provides entertainment for families. The park's trail system includes paths along the river and through the surrounding forest, with the Alum Cave Trail being a popular destination. Audra State Park has historical significance as a former logging area and later a Civilian Conservation Corps camp in the 1930s. Today it serves as a quiet retreat for campers seeking a forested riverside setting within easy reach of Buckhannon and the surrounding Appalachian region.
