About

Tyee Campground sits on the northern banks of the Siltcoos River beside the Siltcoos Lake outlet, part of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. The small 14-site campground offers a mix of sites secluded by coastal shrubbery and open meadow sites alongside the water. All sites feature paved parking aprons, picnic tables, and fire rings with grills. The campground includes vault toilets and a boat ramp, making it popular with kayakers who paddle up and down the river outlet. Drinking water is available from a hand pump. The Siltcoos River flows west from the 3,164-acre Siltcoos Lake to the Pacific Ocean, providing excellent opportunities for fishing coho salmon and observing shorebirds and waterfowl. The campground is particularly family-friendly, with safe river access for children to play. Nearby attractions include expansive beaches, massive coastal dune formations, and off-road vehicle trails at South Jetty. Wildlife in the area includes Roosevelt elk, panfish, and bald eagles. A dump station is available within 4 miles at Honeyman State Park.

Directions

From Florence, travel south on Highway 101 for 6 miles to Pacific Avenue. Turn left onto Pacific Avenue and travel approximately 100 feet. The campground entrance is on the right (south) side of Pacific Avenue.
