About
Driftwood II Campground sits in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, specifically designed for off-road vehicle enthusiasts seeking direct sand access. The campground features a practical parking lot layout with 67 designated camping sites, most equipped with picnic tables and campfire rings, though RV pull-through sites 49-58 do not have these amenities. The facility provides flush toilets, drinking water via hand pump, hot showers, and trash collection. Surrounded by coastal vegetation including shore pine, waxmyrtle, huckleberry, and salal, the campground is perfectly positioned for dune exploration. The Driftwood II OHV Trail begins right at the campground and leads riders north through forest into a vast expanse of open sand dunes that extends to South Jetty Road. The Siltcoos River flows nearby from Siltcoos Lake to the Pacific Ocean, and the beach is a short distance away. Beyond OHV riding, visitors can enjoy beachcombing, swimming, sunbathing, and wildlife watching. During snowy plover nesting season (March 15 - September 15), beach access is restricted to the Siltcoos Beach Day Use parking lot. The campground enforces a 14-day limit within any 30-day rolling period, requires all vehicles to stay within striped paved areas, and limits sites to 2 vehicles each. All sites require advance digital reservations through Recreation.gov.
Directions
