About

Tuchuck Campground offers 7 primitive campsites tucked high in the remote Whitefish Range of the Flathead National Forest. The campground sits at nearly 4,900 feet elevation and provides access to backcountry trails including Tuchuck Creek Trail #23 and Tuchuck Ridge Trail #114. The setting is well-suited for both hikers and equestrians seeking a remote wilderness experience. Equestrian facilities are provided west of the access road, including feed bunks, hitch rails, a vault toilet, and a stock loading ramp. Stock animals are prohibited in the main campground area east of the access road. A Food Storage Order is in effect requiring proper storage of food and attractants. The campground is free and operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a 16-day stay limit. Campers must bring their own drinking water as no potable water is available. The remote access road typically limits the campground to high-clearance vehicles, and opening dates vary depending on snowpack and road conditions each year.
