The facility features 3 campsites and 3 additional picnic table day-use areas, making it an intimate destination for those seeking solitude in a backcountry setting. This is a no-fee campground with basic amenities including vault toilets, but campers must bring their own drinking water as none is available on-site. Access requires traveling 41 miles north of Columbia Falls on County Road 486, then 11 miles west on Forest Service Road 115, or from the west through Stillwater State Forest. The remote location and forest road access mean seasonal availability depends on snow and road conditions. The campground operates first-come, first-served with a 16-day stay limit. Recreation opportunities include fishing in Red Meadow Lake and exploring the surrounding national forest. Due to the elevation and remote location, the camping season typically runs from late spring through fall, with exact opening dates varying based on snowmelt and road accessibility.
