Trail Creek Campground sits along the East Fork of the South Fork Salmon River at approximately 5,000 feet elevation in the Klamath National Forest. The campground features 12 well-shaded campsites in a forested setting, offering a peaceful base for exploring the surrounding wilderness areas. Access to the campground is via Forest Road 39N08, off the paved County Road 1C02 (Callahan-Cecilville Road), approximately 14 miles from Callahan. The campground provides vault toilets and basic amenities. Campers should be prepared to pack out all trash and bring their own water when seasonal water service is not available. The location offers excellent access to the Trinity Alps and Russian Wildernesses, with numerous hiking and fishing opportunities nearby. Trails lead south along Fish Lake Creek into the Trinity Alps Wilderness, where overnight wilderness permits are required. The area is known for riparian wildlife along the river and forest birding opportunities. Some small mammals may frequent campsites. The campground operates on a 14-day camping limit, and sites are available for $10 per night with a 50% discount for Interagency Senior/Access Pass holders.

From Callahan, take the Callahan-Cecilville Road for approximately 14 miles to the campground. Access is via Forest Road 39N08 off the paved County Road 1C02.
