About
Shadow Creek Campground was a small, rustic campground in Klamath National Forest, located along the East Fork of the South Fork Salmon River at approximately 3,000 feet elevation. The campground featured six campsites in a mixed conifer setting that provided natural shade and a peaceful, out-of-the-way camping experience. Access was via paved County Road 1C02, also known as the Callahan-Cecilville Road. When operational, the campground offered vault toilets but no potable water, requiring visitors to bring their own water supply or treat water from the river. Some sites could accommodate RVs, though the remote location and access road conditions made it more suitable for tents and smaller camping vehicles. The setting along the river provided opportunities for fishing and enjoying the natural surroundings of the Salmon River drainage. The campground has been officially decommissioned by the U.S. Forest Service and is no longer maintained or available for public camping use. Former visitors appreciated the site's privacy and natural beauty in this less-traveled corner of Klamath National Forest.
