About
Tower Fall Campground is located at 6,600 feet elevation in Yellowstone's northern range, positioned on the north side of the steep, winding road to Dunraven Pass. This smaller National Park Service campground offers 31 reservable sites and serves as an excellent base for exploring the Tower-Roosevelt area. The campground is within walking distance of Tower Fall, and the Tower General Store is nearby. The surrounding northern range provides critical habitat for some of North America's largest wild herds of bison and elk, which in turn support several wolf packs. The Lamar Valley, located a short drive east, is renowned for exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities including wolves, grizzly bears, black bears, bison, elk, pronghorn, and bighorn sheep. The gorge and cliffs between Tower Junction and Tower Fall provide habitat for bighorn sheep, osprey, peregrine falcons, and red-tailed hawks. The campground offers access to several hiking trails, including the popular day hike to Mount Washburn lookout point to the south. Roosevelt Lodge, a short drive from the campground, provides dining options and horseback riding activities. The campground has a hairpin curve in the loop and sites accommodate RVs up to 30 feet, though sites may not be level.
