Pebble Creek Campground

Closed

Closed indefinitely for flood recovery. The campground sustained significant damage from the June 2022 floods and will remain closed until further notice while repair work is completed. No reopening date has been announced.

About

Pebble Creek Campground occupies one of the most scenic and remote locations in Yellowstone National Park, nestled at 6,900 feet elevation against the rugged Absaroka Range in the park's northeast corner. Located along the road between Tower Junction and the Northeast Entrance, this 27-site campground historically provided a peaceful camping experience away from the park's more heavily trafficked areas. The campground features vault toilets, seasonal potable water, bear-proof food storage lockers, and trash collection. Sites accommodate tents, RVs up to approximately 25 feet, and trailers, with some pull-through sites available. Campfires are permitted in designated fire rings. The area offers excellent hiking access via the nearby Pebble Creek Trailhead and opportunities for wildlife viewing in the Lamar Valley. The campground was significantly impacted by the historic June 2022 flooding that caused widespread damage throughout Yellowstone's northern corridor. It has remained closed since then while the National Park Service conducts flood recovery work, with no announced reopening date.
