— Closed since 2022 flood damage and will remain closed for the foreseeable future to complete flood recovery work. The campground may be rehabilitated as part of future Northeast Entrance Road improvements.
About
Pebble Creek Campground is situated in the remote northeast corner of Yellowstone National Park between Tower Junction and the Northeast Entrance, offering 27 campsites in a wooded setting near Pebble Creek. The campground historically operated as a first-come, first-served facility with amenities including vault toilets, potable water, bear-proof food storage lockers, and trash collection. Some sites featured long pull-through configurations suitable for RVs and trailers.
In June 2022, catastrophic flooding devastated the campground, destroying the water system infrastructure, eliminating several campsites, and causing significant road damage. The extent of the damage was severe enough that the campground has remained closed since the flood event. Rehabilitation may occur as part of a broader proposal to improve the Northeast Entrance Road, though no definitive timeline has been established.
When operational, the campground charged $20 per night with a 50% discount for Interagency Access and Senior Pass holders. Standard Yellowstone regulations applied, including a 10 am checkout, six-person site occupancy limit, 14-day stay limit from July 1 through Labor Day, and generator prohibition. Wood and charcoal fires were permitted in designated fire rings, subject to wildfire danger restrictions.
