The modern campground is open mid-April through mid-October. Reservations available via ReserveAmerica up to 11 months in advance. About

Tobyhanna State Park sits in the Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania at nearly 2,000 feet elevation, centered around the scenic 170-acre Tobyhanna Lake. The campground provides 136 sites: 26 with 50-amp electric hookups and 104 non-electric sites, all with fire rings and picnic tables. A bathhouse offers hot showers and flush toilets, and a dump station is located between the park office and campground entrance. Site driveways range from 15 to 45 feet, with both back-in and pull-through options available. The park spans 5,440 acres with over 20 miles of trails for hiking and biking, plus dedicated snowmobile trails and cross-country skiing routes in winter. Water recreation includes a swimming beach, two boat launches, mooring areas, and boat rentals. Fishing for bass, pickerel, perch, and panfish is popular. Five rustic group tenting sites accommodate up to 120 people total and remain open year-round. Due to the high elevation, nighttime temperatures run cooler than surrounding lowlands, so pack warm layers even in summer. The park was formerly a military artillery training range, and visitors in remote areas should be aware of potential unexploded ordnance and report any findings to park staff.
