Promised Land State Park

Open — Open year-round with limited sites available for winter camping. Full operations run from early April through mid-October. Beechwood offers modern facilities Memorial Day through Columbus Day. Deerfield and Pines are open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Maximum stay is 14 days during summer season and 21 days during off-season.

Promised Land State Park sits on the Pocono Plateau at 1,800 feet above sea level in Pike County, Pennsylvania, encompassing approximately 3,000 acres surrounded by Delaware State Forest. The park features six distinct camping areas with 384 campsites that cater to various camping preferences, from rustic walk-in sites to modern full hookup facilities. The Lower Lake Campground on the western edge of Lower Lake includes four areas: Beechwood (106 sites with full hookups), Northwoods (48 electric sites), Rhododendron (63 sites with some electric), and Hemlock Hill Equestrian Area (6 sites with horse facilities). Pickerel Point Campground occupies a peninsula on Promised Land Lake with 75 sites including rustic, electric, and full hookup options, plus three camping cottages available year-round. Deerfield Campground offers 34 pet-friendly rustic sites, while Pines Campground provides 58 rustic sites near the main beach. The park also features 12 historic rustic cabins built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s at the Bear Wallow Cabin Colony. These lakeside cabins include fireplaces, full kitchens, and electricity. Recreational opportunities abound with two lakes for swimming, boating, and fishing, plus extensive hiking and equestrian trails connecting to Delaware State Forest.
