Promised Land State Park encompasses approximately 3,000 acres of the Pocono Plateau in Pike County, featuring two lakes and dense forests of beech, oak, maple, and hemlock. The park offers 392 campsites distributed across six camping areas: Lower Lake (Beechwood, Northwoods, and Rhododendron sections), Pickerel Point, Deerfield, Pines, and Hemlock Hill Equestrian. Accommodations range from rustic walk-in tent sites to modern sites with electricity and full-hookup RV sites with water, sewer, and electric connections. Pickerel Point operates year-round with limited winter availability, while other campgrounds follow seasonal schedules. Lower Lake areas open from early April through mid-October with modern amenities including hot showers, flush toilets, coin laundry, and electricity. Deerfield and Pines campgrounds offer a more rustic experience from Memorial Day through Labor Day with flush toilets and limited or pay showers. The park also features camping cottages at Pickerel Point and 12 historic CCC-era rustic cabins at Bear Wallow. Recreational opportunities include fishing and boating on Promised Land Lake and Lower Lake, over 50 miles of hiking trails, and access to the surrounding Delaware State Forest. Cell service is unreliable throughout the park. A dump station is located at the Lower Lake Campground entrance, and ADA accessible sites are available in multiple camping areas.

Directions

Located in Pike County, approximately 10 miles north of Canadensis along PA Route 390. Accessible from Interstate 80 and Interstate 84. The park is roughly 100 miles north of Philadelphia and within 1-3 hours of Scranton, Allentown, and Harrisburg.
