About

Toad Suck Campground is a popular Army Corps of Engineers facility situated on the Arkansas River at Toad Suck Ferry Lock and Dam. The campground provides 48 sites equipped with electric (30 or 50 amp) and water hookups, accommodating tents, RVs, trailers, and fifth wheels up to 55 feet. Sites feature paved back-in driveways with partial to full shade. Amenities include modern restrooms with hot showers, a dump station at the campground entrance, multiple playgrounds, and five reservable group picnic shelters. A boat ramp provides direct access to the Arkansas River, which offers excellent year-round fishing for bream, crappie, white bass, largemouth bass, and several species of catfish. The campground sits in the eastern edge of the Ozark and Ouachita Mountains, where dogwood, redbud, wild plum, and other native flowering trees create scenic springtime views. The nearby town of Conway hosts the annual Toad Suck Daze Festival featuring toad races, and the historic Cadron Blockhouse replica is a short drive away.

Directions

From Conway, travel west for 7 miles on SR-60 and follow signs into the campground. From I-40, take exit 129B and head south on Dave Ward Drive/Hwy 286 for 7.5 miles to the stop sign. Turn left, continue over the bridge, then take an immediate hard right just before the Toad Suck One Stop. Follow the gravel road to the main gate on the left under the bridge.
