About

Sugar Loaf Park is located on Greers Ferry Lake in the scenic Ozark Mountains of north-central Arkansas. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-operated campground offers 70 campsites, with 55 providing electric hookups (20/30 amp). Each site includes a paved parking spur, picnic table, fire ring, and grill. Facilities include flush and vault toilets, drinking water, hot showers, an RV dump station, playground, picnic shelter, and a boat ramp providing direct lake access. Greers Ferry Lake covers over 30,000 acres and offers exceptional opportunities for boating, sailing, water skiing, swimming, scuba diving, and fishing. The Sugar Loaf Mountain Island National Nature Trail is adjacent to the campground on a lake island. The 1.5-mile hike reaches 1,001 feet above sea level, providing panoramic views of the lake and surrounding countryside. The area is forested with red cedar, black gum, red oak, elm, pecan, and sweet gum trees, with abundant wildlife including white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, rabbits, and various bird species.
