About
Tionesta Recreation Area Campground occupies a forested setting below the Tionesta Dam in northwestern Pennsylvania. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the campground features 124 sites across four loops, with 48 coveted lakeshore sites offering direct access to Tionesta Lake. All sites include standard electric hookups, and select sites provide full hookups with electric, water, and sewer connections. Facilities include multiple shower houses with flush restrooms distributed throughout the campground, a dump station for RV waste disposal, and a nearby boat ramp and marina. A beach area along Tionesta Creek is available for swimming and picnicking, though no lifeguards are on duty. The region offers excellent fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing opportunities. Half of Forest County is preserved as public land, including the adjacent Allegheny National Forest. The Seneca Indian tribe named this area meaning "where the water separates the land." Reservations are required and available through Recreation.gov.
