About

Tillis Hill Equestrian Campground sits within the Citrus Tract of Withlacoochee State Forest, roughly 30 minutes south of Inverness. The 37 paved campsites feature 30 and 50 amp electric hookups along with potable water connections. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring with grate or freestanding grill. Two bathhouses with showers serve the camping area, and an RV dump station is available on-site. The equestrian facilities include 36 covered open stalls, with stalls #001 and #020 specifically designed for stallions or high-spirited horses. Horses are prohibited on campsites but have access to dedicated equestrian trails throughout the forest. A dining hall and pavilion with a large grill are available for group gatherings. Withlacoochee State Forest offers miles of multi-use trails for horseback riding, hiking, and mountain biking. The surrounding Wildlife Management Area permits seasonal hunting, so wearing bright orange is recommended during hunting seasons. Reservations are available through Reserve America up to 11 months in advance.
