Open — Open year-round. Reservations available up to 11 months in advance via Reserve America. The campground closes if Citrus County is placed under a Tropical Storm or Hurricane Warning. Hunting occurs in surrounding Wildlife Management Area during designated seasons.

About
Holder Mine Campground sits within the Holder Mine Recreation Area in the Citrus Tract of Withlacoochee State Forest, spanning nearly 50,000 acres in Citrus County. Located less than 15 minutes south of Inverness, this established campground provides 27 campsites with electric and water hookups shaded by live and turkey oak trees. The campground includes one bathhouse with restrooms and showers, a dump station, and a pavilion available for reservation. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring with grate or grill. Withlacoochee State Forest features Outstanding Florida Waters including the Withlacoochee River, Little Withlacoochee River, and Jumper Creek. The forest encompasses open pine sand hills, dense woodlands, and canopied trails, with diverse tree species including slash pine, longleaf pine, cypress, maple, magnolia, and various oaks. Wildlife sightings may include bald eagles, fox squirrels, gopher tortoises, white-tailed deer, and turkeys. The forest was ranked number one on the World Wildlife Fund's 10 Coolest Places You've Never Seen in North America in 1999. Recreation at Holder Mine includes two hiking trails accessible from the campground and seasonal hunting during Archery and Small Game seasons within the Wildlife Management Area. Visitors should wear 500 square inches of blaze orange while hiking during hunting seasons. The campground is accessible via C-581 Pleasant Grove Road and Forest Road Trail 10, though two-wheel drive vehicles and trailers should only use this designated route.
Directions
From I-75: Take Exit 329 SR 44 west towards Inverness. At the intersection with US 41, continue west to the traffic light at C-581 Pleasant Grove Road. Travel south on C-581 approximately 3 miles to FR Trail 10. Turn right west and the entrance will be on your right approximately 2 miles. When trailering or traveling by two-wheel drive, only access from C-581/Pleasant Grove Road and Forest Road Trail 10.
