Holder Mine Campground occupies a shaded setting beneath mature live and turkey oak trees within the Holder Mine Recreation Area, part of the Citrus Tract of Withlacoochee State Forest. Located less than 15 minutes south of Inverness in Citrus County, the campground provides convenient access to this 157,000-acre forest while remaining close to town services. The campground features 27 water and electric sites with 30 and 50 amp service available. A modern bathhouse provides flush toilets and hot showers, and a dump station serves RV campers. Each individual site includes a picnic table and fire ring with grate or grill. A pavilion is available for group gatherings. Site equipment lengths range from 25 to 50 feet depending on the specific site, with most configured as back-in. Recreation options include two hiking trails accessible from the recreation area, along with hunting opportunities in the surrounding Wildlife Management Area during archery and small game seasons. Campers should note that two-wheel drive vehicles should access the campground via C-581/Pleasant Grove Road and Forest Road 10. During hunting season, wearing blaze orange while hiking is recommended.

Directions

From Inverness, head south on US-41. Turn east onto C-581 (Pleasant Grove Road), then follow Forest Road 10 to the campground at 3049 East Trail 10, Inverness, FL 34452. Two-wheel drive vehicles should only access via C-581 and Forest Road 10.
