Holder Mine Hunt Camp is a primitive seasonal camping area situated in the Citrus Tract of Withlacoochee State Forest, approximately 15 minutes south of Inverness in Citrus County, Florida. This hunt camp caters exclusively to licensed hunters and operates during designated hunting seasons for the Citrus Wildlife Management Area, including archery, muzzleloader, general gun, small game, and turkey seasons. The camp provides 113 dispersed primitive sites spread throughout the oak woodlands. Amenities are minimal: limited potable water is available, but portable toilets are only placed during active hunting dates, not the entire hunt camp reservation window. There are no hookups, showers, or dump stations. Sites can accommodate tents, trailers, self-propelled RVs, or temporary shelters with a maximum of 25 persons, 5 camping units, or 10 tents per site. Reservations are required and can be made up to 11 months in advance through the Florida State Forests reservation system. Proof of a current hunting license or management stamp is mandatory at booking, along with a valid driver's license. Individuals are limited to a maximum of two hunt camp sites per season, with only one campsite per reservation.

Directions

From I-75: Take Exit 329 (SR 44) and head west toward Inverness. At the US 41/C-581 intersection, travel south approximately 3 miles to Forest Road 10, turn right. The entrance is 2 miles ahead.
