About
Three Prong Campground sits at 5,800 feet elevation in the Mendocino National Forest, approximately 25 miles west of Paskenta and 60 miles west of Red Bluff. The campground is nestled among fir and pine trees along the edge of a large meadow, offering a serene mountain environment for campers seeking solitude in a natural setting. This primitive campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system and no fees. The remote location and elevation mean that access may be limited during winter months when snow closes forest roads. Campers should be prepared for primitive conditions, as there is no potable water available on-site. Vault toilets and picnic tables are provided at the campsites. The campground is accessed via forest roads M-2, 24N01, and 24N13, which may not be suitable for trailers or large RVs depending on conditions. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The surrounding area offers opportunities for hiking, wildlife viewing, and experiencing the quiet beauty of California's North Coast Range mountains.
Directions
From Paskenta, take Road M-2 west to Road 24N01, then turn right on Road 24N13 to the campground. Located 25 miles west of Paskenta and 60 miles west of Red Bluff.
