Whitlock Campground is a small, quiet camping destination located deep within the Mendocino National Forest, approximately 16 miles west of Paskenta. The campground is nestled among large oak trees and ponderosa pines, providing natural shade and a serene forest atmosphere for visitors seeking a peaceful backcountry experience. This primitive campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system and no camping fees. The facilities are basic, consisting of vault toilets and picnic tables with fire rings at individual campsites. Campers must bring their own water as none is available on-site, and should be prepared for a self-sufficient camping experience. The remote location via Forest Road M-2 and Road 24N19 offers solitude away from more developed recreation areas.
