About
Little Doe Campground is a primitive, scenic campground located in the Mendocino National Forest, approximately 12 miles north of the Eel River Work Center via Road M1 (Indian Dick Road). The 12 sites, including two walk-in options, are situated among a large mix of conifer and oak trees with a creek flowing through the grounds, providing a peaceful forest camping experience. The campground offers basic amenities including picnic tables and fire rings at each site, along with vault toilets. There is no potable water available, so campers must bring their own supply. Trash services are not provided, requiring campers to pack out all garbage. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with on-site payment of $6 per night, payable via the Recreation.gov mobile app using the Scan and Pay QR code feature. Note that this campground experienced damage during the 2020 August Complex fire. Visitors should avoid parking or camping under fire-damaged trees. The campground is not maintained through winter months. Stay limits apply: campers may stay up to 14 days within any 30-day period, but no more than 28 cumulative days in any 12-month period.
Directions
From Highway 101, travel 12 miles north of Willits, California and turn right on Highway 162 to Covelo. One and a half miles north of Covelo, turn right on Highway 162 East and go 11 miles to Eel River Work Center. The campground is located 12 miles north of Eel River Work Center via Road M1 (Indian Dick Road).
