Tucked away in the towering pines of Mendocino National Forest, Masterson Group Campground offers a secluded setting ideal for family reunions, scout troops, and large group gatherings. The campground accommodates up to 75 guests and 25 vehicles in a grassy meadow surrounded by dense forest. The gated entrance provides added security, with the combination provided upon reservation confirmation. Amenities include vault toilets, potable drinking water from faucets, and 10 picnic tables spread throughout the site. A large communal fire ring serves as a gathering spot for evening campfires. The pull-through gravel driveway can handle vehicles up to 70 feet in length. Plaskett Lake lies just one mile from the campground, offering excellent trout fishing and opportunities for canoeing and other non-motorized watercraft. The surrounding Mendocino National Forest provides 913,306 acres of mountains and canyons for hiking, backpacking, hunting, and wildlife viewing.

Directions

From Interstate 5, take the exit for Willows/Oroville Hwy 162 and head west. After about 23 miles turn right at the junction at County Road 306. Travel approximately four miles, then turn left onto 162/Forest Highway 7. After approximately 30 miles turn right at the Masterson Group Campground sign and follow the road for a quarter-mile to the gated entrance.
