About
Kingsley Glade Campground is a quiet, six-site campground nestled in the forest at the edge of a meadow in the remote western portion of Mendocino National Forest. Located 22 miles west of Paskenta and 60 miles west of Red Bluff at 4,500 feet elevation, this campground offers a peaceful setting for those seeking solitude and equestrian recreation. The campground is particularly suited for horse camping, with corrals, hitching posts, and access to riding trails. Each site includes a table and fire ring, and a vault toilet is available. Campers must pack out all trash, as no water is available on-site. The campground can accommodate trailers up to 14 feet in length. Thomes Creek, located approximately five road miles from camp, is a popular destination for fishing and swimming. The campground reopened in August 2025 following temporary closure for hazardous tree removal related to damage from the 2020 August Complex fires. Access is via Forest Roads M-2 and 24N01 from Paskenta. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no fees required, and quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Given the elevation and remote location, winter visitors should be prepared for potential snow and check road conditions before traveling.
