Cedar Camp Campground Closure

Cedar Camp Campground is closed for public safety. Closure is in effect.

About

Wells Cabin Campground is a remote, high-elevation primitive campground tucked into the rugged terrain of Mendocino National Forest. Located approximately 33 miles west of Paskenta via Road M-4 and Road 23N69, this campground offers a quiet escape surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring, and vault toilets are available. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no fees required. No potable water is available, so campers must bring all their own drinking water. The site is not designed for RVs or trailers; access roads may be challenging, and sites are not configured for larger vehicles. A highlight of the area is Anthony Peak Lookout, located approximately one mile from the campground, which provides excellent panoramic views of the surrounding forest and mountains. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Directions

From Paskenta, take Road M-4 west to the junction with Road 23N69, then turn north for about 3 miles. From the west side, at Eel River Work Center, travel east on Forest Highway 7 to the road junction beyond Low Gap Guard Station, then turn north on the road to Anthony Peak.
