About
Thoms Creek Crossing Campsite is a free, fully ADA-accessible single-occupancy campsite located on the southern end of Wrangell Island in the Tongass National Forest. The site is reached via a short footpath from the parking area at the Thoms Creek bridge, placing campers directly on the shore of the creek. The campsite provides a quiet, primitive camping experience with light usage levels. An outhouse is available, but there is no potable water on site, so campers must bring their own supply. The remote location offers excellent fishing opportunities in Thoms Creek, which contains cutthroat trout, Dolly Varden, pink salmon, and sockeye salmon. Access is via Zimovia Highway and Forest Roads 6265, 6270, and 6299, approximately 38 miles south of Wrangell. The site is located just east of the bridge crossing Thoms Creek. Road conditions may vary seasonally.
Directions
