* WHAT...West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * WHERE...Portions of northwestern Connecticut, western Massachusetts, eastern New York, and southern Vermont. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EST this evening. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong westerly winds continue today, especially across the eastern Catskills, Mohawk Valley, Greater Capital District, northern Taconics, and southern Vermont. Blowing and drifting snow will occur today due to these gusty winds, where treated roadways can be re-covered in snow.

Thompson's Lake Campground at Thacher State Park is situated along the Helderberg Escarpment, 18 miles southwest of Albany, offering panoramic views of the Hudson-Mohawk Valley and the Adirondack and Green Mountains. The campground features 140 wooded campsites distributed across two loops (A and B), with sites ranging from 20 to 40 feet in driveway length. The property is comprised of mixed hardwood and conifer forests, limestone outcroppings, and open fields surrounding Thompson's Lake. Recreational opportunities abound throughout the year. During the camping season, visitors enjoy the sandy swimming beach with lifeguard supervision, carry-in boat access, and rentals of kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards. The campground features a volleyball court, horseshoe pits, a playing field, and swing sets. Fishing is available in the lake, with ice fishing opportunities in winter. The Emma Treadwell Thacher Nature Center, located within the campground, offers exhibits including a geologic model of the Helderberg Escarpment, a live honeybee observation hive, bird viewing area, fossils, and hands-on displays. Interpretive and recreational programs are offered for campers throughout the summer. Over 25 miles of trails provide opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing.

Thacher State Park is located at 830 Thacher Park Road, Voorheesville, NY 12186. From Albany, take NY-85 W to NY-157 W, following signs to the park entrance. The park is approximately 15 miles southwest of Albany.
