Rock Island State Park Campground

Open — Open year-round. The main campground with 50 sites operates continuously. The tent-only campground with 10 sites is closed from November 2 through March 15 annually.

About

Rock Island State Park Campground sits on 883 acres at the confluence of the Caney Fork, Collins, and Rock Rivers at the headwaters of Center Hill Lake. The park is renowned for its dramatic waterfalls, including the 30-foot horseshoe Great Falls that once powered a 19th-century cotton mill. The main campground features 50 sites accommodating RVs and trailers, with 20/30/50-amp electrical service, water hookups, and select sites offering sewer connections. Sites 31 and 32 are ADA accessible. Each site includes a fire ring, charcoal grill, picnic table, and lantern hanger. An additional 10 tent-only sites operate seasonally from mid-March through early November, also equipped with 20-amp electric and water hookups. Two modern bathhouses provide hot showers and flush toilets, and a dump station serves the campground. WiFi is available throughout. The campground is located near a picnic pavilion, playground, and natural sand beach. Visitors should be aware that gorge areas may close due to TVA dam water releases, which can occur on irregular schedules.
