About
Ragland Bottom Campground is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facility located on the shores of Center Hill Lake, where the Caney Fork River stretches 64 miles through central Tennessee's Highland Rim region. The campground offers 40 sites with water and 50-amp electric hookups accommodating RVs up to 69 feet, plus 16 primitive tent-only sites. Modern amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, potable water, and a dump station. The lakefront location provides excellent access to boating, waterskiing, and fishing. Anglers can pursue bream, walleye, smallmouth bass, crappie, catfish, and white bass. Below the dam, the Caney Fork River is one of Tennessee's most productive trout fisheries. A boat ramp is located within the campground, and an adjacent day-use area offers a swimming beach, group picnic shelter, volleyball court, basketball goal, and playground. The Red Post Trail, a 2-mile loop above the campground, rewards hikers with overlooks of the lake and nearby Sligo Bridge and Marina. Beautiful dogwoods bloom throughout the campground in springtime. Burgess Falls State Park, featuring a 250-foot cascade of waterfalls, is a 25-minute drive away.
