About

Edgar Evins State Park Campground sits on the shoreline overlooking Center Hill Lake, offering a unique camping experience on the steep, hilly terrain of Tennessee's Eastern Highland Rim. Located just 65 miles east of Nashville, the park provides convenient access to kayaking, canoeing, boating, and hiking while maintaining a peaceful retreat from urban life. The campground features 60 distinctive tent and trailer campsites with electrical and water hookups. These wooden platform-type sites are reinforced with concrete and steel, built around the slopes of Center Hill Lake to accommodate the park's terrain. Sites are designed for trailers or motor homes up to 33 feet in length, with select sites accommodating rigs up to 40 feet. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table, grill, and fire ring. The platforms also work well for both small and large tents, though campers using tent pegs should bring large nails to secure tents into the wooden platforms. Three bathhouses with hot showers are located throughout the campground, and a centrally located sewage dump station serves RV campers. The park also offers nine primitive walk-in sites situated near a community fire circle that seats approximately 15 people. These sites have access to central water but no electricity at the sites. Approximately 20 sites and one bathhouse remain open year-round for winter camping. A camp store operates seasonally from March through October at the campground entrance. The park enforces certified heat-treated firewood requirements to protect against invasive pests like the Emerald Ash Borer.
