About

Hurricane Bridge Recreation Area is located on the shores of Center Hill Lake on central Tennessee's Highland Rim. Positioned on a peninsula, the facility provides sweeping lake views on three sides and serves primarily as a day-use area for picnicking and lake access. The centerpiece is a large group picnic shelter that can accommodate up to 125 guests, equipped with water and 15-amp electric hookups. Two boat ramps and a dock provide easy lake access for boating, water skiing, canoeing, and fishing. Anglers will find bream, walleye, smallmouth bass, crappie, catfish, and white bass in the lake's waters. The recreation area includes 0.9 miles of paved walking trail known as the Old 56 Trail, with nine miles of additional hiking trails meandering around the lake. Center Hill Lake stretches 64 miles up the Caney Fork River and is surrounded by lush mixed hardwood forests where whitetail deer, wild turkey, squirrels, and rabbits roam. Edgar Evins State Park is located about 20 minutes away, and Burgess Falls State Park is a 30-minute drive.
