About
Named for the legendary frontiersman and Tennessee native, David Crockett State Park encompasses 1,319 acres in Middle Tennessee, about 90 minutes south of Nashville near Lawrenceburg. The park operates two campgrounds: Campground #1 sits along Shoal Creek and is open seasonally from March through November, while Campground #2 offers paved, year-round sites. Both provide water and electric hookups with 20/30/50-amp service, picnic tables, and grills at each site. Centralized bathhouses feature modern flush toilets and hot showers, and a dump station serves self-contained RVs. The park surrounds 40-acre Lindsey Lake, where visitors can fish for bass, bluegill, and catfish or rent rowboats and pedal boats. Additional amenities include a paved bicycle trail, hiking paths, tennis courts, and volleyball areas. The park's museum chronicles David Crockett's life before he became a congressman and Alamo defender. Crockett's Mill Restaurant overlooks the lake with seating for 240 guests. Seven modern cabins and picnic pavilions are also available for reservation.
