About

Mousetail Landing State Park encompasses 1,247 acres on the eastern bank of the Tennessee River in Perry County. The park's name traces back to the Civil War era when mice reportedly fled a burning tannery in such numbers that the area became known as Mousetail Landing. The campground offers two distinct camping experiences: the main campground with 25 sites (19 with electric and water hookups) featuring a modern bathhouse, laundromat, and dump station, and the Spring Creek primitive campground with 21 sites directly on the Tennessee River banks. The park's riverside location provides excellent fishing opportunities for bass, bream, crappie, stripe, and catfish. All campsites are equipped with picnic tables and either fire rings or BBQ grills.
