About
Temple Bar Campground occupies a remote location along the eastern portion of Lake Mead in Arizona within Lake Mead National Recreation Area. The campground operates year-round and provides 71 paved sites designed to accommodate both tents and RVs up to typical sizes, though no hookups are available. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring or grill, with paved roads providing access throughout the campground.
The campground features flush toilets and multiple water spigots distributed throughout, along with an RV dump station and water refill station near the entrance. Accessible sites are available. While temperatures can exceed 100°F during summer months, the cooler season from October through April offers more comfortable conditions, though winter nights can drop to freezing.
Mature palm trees, oleanders, cottonwoods, and native desert vegetation provide shade and privacy between sites. The remote location makes Temple Bar ideal for pristine night sky viewing. The adjacent marina offers boat rentals and a seasonal cafe, with a nearby store providing basic supplies. The Temple View Trail allows hikers to observe Lake Mead's crystal blue waters and the colorful natural temple formation. The area is popular for boating, fishing, and discovering secluded coves along the shoreline. Nearest services are approximately 90 minutes away in Las Vegas or Kingman.
