About

Reeder Bay Campground is a picturesque hideaway nestled on the eastern shore of Priest Lake, deep below the crest of the Selkirk Mountains. The 19-mile-long lake reaches depths of 300 feet and is known for its remarkably clear waters fed by streams cascading from the high peaks. Campsites are shaded by a dense forest of cedar, fir, and hemlock, and the campground's sandy beach draws visitors seeking a refreshing swim or relaxing afternoon by the water. The campground offers 24 standard nonelectric sites suitable for tents and RVs up to 30 feet. Amenities include flush toilets, a pressurized water system with hydrants, fire rings, picnic tables, and food storage boxes. Paved roads lead to gravel parking spurs, and overflow parking is available. Wake boarding, jet skiing, canoeing, and bird watching are popular activities. Anglers target Dolly Varden and cutthroat trout as well as kokanee salmon on the lake and nearby Priest River. The 8-mile Lakeshore Trail passes through alder, pine, and young cedar with scenic overlooks. The Upper Priest Lake Trail leads hikers and mountain bikers to the Upper Priest Lake Scenic Area, also accessible by boat. Wildlife in the surrounding area includes deer, elk, moose, grizzly and black bears, wolves, and mountain lions. A 14-day stay limit per 30-consecutive-day period is strictly enforced.
