Tate's Hell State Forest Cash Creek Campground

Open — Open year-round. Reservations available up to 11 months in advance through Reserve America. Non-potable water at campsites.

About

Located along Cash Creek in the expansive Tate's Hell State Forest, this 13-site campground provides a comfortable base for exploring Florida's Forgotten Coast. The campground offers both electric sites (5 sites) and non-electric sites (8 sites), with maximum equipment lengths ranging from 25 to 50 feet. Amenities include a full restroom facility with hot showers and vault toilets throughout the campground, making it more developed than primitive camping but more rustic than state park facilities. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. A concrete boat ramp provides direct access to Cash Creek for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. The forest encompasses 35 miles of rivers, streams, and creeks, offering extensive paddling opportunities. Beyond water recreation, visitors can explore the High Bluff Coast Hiking Trail, the Ralph G. Kendrick Boardwalk overlooking dwarf cypress forests, and designated hunting areas. The campground's location near Apalachicola and St. George Island provides access to coastal attractions while maintaining a secluded forest setting.
