The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Red Flag Warning for gusty winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels, which is in effect from noon today to 7 PM EST this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA...Rabun, Habersham, Stephens, Franklin, Hart and Elbert. * TIMING...This afternoon into early evening. * WINDS...Northwest 10 to 15 mph; with gusts as high as 20 to 25 mph. * HUMIDITY...Values as low as 20% are expected during the afternoon. * FUEL MOISTURE...10-hour fuel moisture expected to fall below 10% this afternoon. * IMPACTS...With elevated winds and low relative humidities, extremely dangerous fire weather conditions are possible. Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Tallulah River Campground is located at 2,080 feet elevation along the scenic Tallulah River in the Chattahoochee National Forest. This 17-site campground is a favorite among families and anglers, offering direct access to rainbow trout fishing in the regularly stocked Tallulah River. The Coleman River Trail trailhead is just 0.03 miles north on Tallulah River Road, providing an easy 1.1-mile hike along Coleman River. The campground features vault toilets with interior lighting and multiple water collection points throughout the site. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern post. Two day-use areas are available for visitors who want to picnic by the river. A camp host is on-site from mid-April through mid-October. The campground operates year-round by reservation only, with a 14-day stay limit within any 30-day period. Nearby attractions include Rabun Bald (Georgia's second-highest peak at 4,696 feet), the Bartram Trail, Chattooga Wild and Scenic River for whitewater activities, Tallulah Gorge State Park, and Lakes Rabun and Burton. The Southern Nantahala Wilderness Area with Beech Creek Trail and Buck Creek Trail is accessible via Tallulah River Road through Tate City.

Take U.S. 76 west from Clayton for 8 miles; turn right (north) on Persimmon Road for 5 miles; turn left (northwest) on Tallulah River Road (Forest Service Road 70) for 1 mile to the campground entrance.
