About
Sycamore State Park Group Campground is a reservation-only facility designed specifically for group camping experiences in Montgomery County, Ohio. The park features multiple group camp areas, including sites designated for tent camping with electric hookups, fire rings, and picnic tables. The day-use Barn Lodge, located in Group Camp A, is equipped with electrical hookups, a wood-burning stove, refrigerator, and cooking stove, making it suitable for meetings, retreats, and reunions year-round. The campground sits within the expansive 2,384-acre Sycamore State Park, which offers a natural retreat among woodlands and meadows along Wolf Creek. The park provides access to scenic ponds for hand-powered boating and fishing, multiple hiking and horseback riding trails, picnic shelters, and an archery range. A separate primitive horseman's camp operates on a first-come, first-served basis with water, latrines, and tie-ups for equestrian visitors. Sycamore State Park became Ohio's newest state park when it was dedicated in November 1979. The group campground serves as the only overnight camping option for non-equestrian visitors, providing a rustic setting ideal for organized groups, youth camps, family reunions, and outdoor education programs.
