* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...The following counties, in southeast Indiana, Dearborn, Franklin, Ohio, Ripley and Switzerland, the following counties, in Kentucky, Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Lewis, Mason, Owen, Pendleton and Robertson, and the following counties, in Ohio, Adams, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Hamilton, Highland, Hocking, Licking, Pickaway, Pike, Ross, Scioto and Warren. * WHEN...Until 5 AM EDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional rounds of showers, along with embedded thunderstorms will continue to move through the region tonight. Several locations have already received 1.5" to 2.0" of rain through the evening hours. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2.0" are possible overnight, which could result in areas of high water and localized flash flooding.
About
Caesar Creek Lake is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facility in southwest Ohio, centrally located between Dayton, Cincinnati, and Columbus. The lake offers five reservable group shelters ideal for reunions, parties, and gatherings. Each shelter features 20-amp electric hookups, indoor picnic tables, and shares access to playground equipment. Parking accommodates up to 50 vehicles per shelter. The shelters are situated near the Caesar Creek Visitor Center, which provides a 24-hour heated and cooled restroom facility, exhibits about the lake, and a courtesy dock for shoreline fishing or kayak launching. Visitors can also access the Adena Trace fitness trail with 9 workout stations and over 50 miles of hiking, mountain biking, and bridle trails. Note: This is a day-use facility. No overnight camping is permitted without a Special Use Permit from the Visitor Center. For traditional overnight camping, Caesar Creek State Park Campground (managed separately by Ohio DNR) offers 283 campsites with electric hookups.
Directions
From I-75, head east on Highway 73 for 11.5 miles past Waynesville, then follow signs for the Caesar Creek Visitor Center for 3 more miles. From I-71, head west on Highway 73 for 7.7 miles, then follow signs for the Visitor Center for about 3 miles.
