About
Sunrise Cabin provides a unique opportunity to experience the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area with the comforts of home. This two-story cabin spans over 2,500 square feet and accommodates up to eight guests in four bedrooms with two bathrooms. Built in 1980, the cabin offers modern conveniences including electricity, a large kitchen with refrigerator, stove, and sink, flush toilets, and running water. Beautiful wooden floors run throughout, and the front porch provides scenic views of the Blue Ridge Highlands Region from an elevation of 2,500 feet. The cabin is surrounded by a large grassy lawn bordered by dense pine and hardwood forests. Recreation opportunities abound with immediate access to the Virginia Highlands Horse Trail, a 68-mile trail through the Appalachian mountains and valleys. New River Trail State Park, located less than 5 miles away, offers 39 miles of trails along one of the world's oldest rivers, with opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing, and paddling. The cabin sits within the 200,000-acre Mount Rogers National Recreation Area, which features two lakes, 50 miles of streams, and multiple historic sites. Outside amenities include a small patio with a grill. Note that the fireplace is currently unavailable.
