About

Summit Lake State Park sits in Henry County near New Castle, Indiana, encompassing more than 2,680 acres of rolling terrain surrounding an 800-acre reservoir. The park is known for its excellent fishing, particularly bass and bluegill, and offers three boat ramps for lake access. A sandy swimming beach with bathhouse serves visitors during warmer months. The campground features 120 electric campsites with modern comfort stations that include flush toilets and showers. Each site comes equipped with a fire ring, picnic table, electric hookup, and parking spur following Indiana State Park standards. Youth tent camping areas are also available. Reservations are handled through camp.IN.gov. The park offers year-round access including winter camping with reduced amenities. Two large shelters are available for reservation. Note that blue-green algae is present in the lake year-round; visitors should not drink lake water and should shower after swimming.
