About
Overlook Campground is the largest of three campgrounds at Summersville Lake State Park, West Virginia's first new state park in over 30 years. The park occupies 177 acres on the northern shore of Summersville Lake, the state's largest body of water known for its remarkably clear blue waters and 60-mile shoreline. The campground features 38 RV sites offering full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections. Sites are positioned behind the welcome center and provide sweeping mountain views. A centrally located bathhouse offers showers and restrooms, while additional amenities include two coin-operated laundry rooms, a playground, and outdoor sink. Summersville Lake is renowned for water recreation including boating, swimming, scuba diving, and fishing. The park also features the Mountaineer Mile trail unveiled during the campground's opening ceremony in May 2025.
