Sullivan Lake Campground is located in Finland State Forest in southern Lake County, Minnesota, about 25 miles north of Two Harbors and seven miles from Lake Superior's North Shore. This primitive campground offers 11 lakeside campsites designed to provide basic camping amenities in a quiet, secluded setting. Each campsite includes a cleared area, picnic table, and fire ring. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations available. Payment is collected through self-registration envelopes at the campground entrance. Facilities include vault toilets, drinking water, and garbage service. The location provides access to a boat launch on Sullivan Lake, though water levels can vary. Nature trails wind through the surrounding forest, and four day-use picnic sites are available for visitors. Sullivan Lake Campground serves as an excellent base for exploring the thousands of acres of county, state, and federal lands in the area, including nearby Superior National Forest. The campground is accessible via paved Highway 6, making it suitable for RVs up to approximately 25 feet, though hookups are not available. The setting offers a genuine wilderness experience while remaining relatively accessible compared to more remote state forest campgrounds.
