About
Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Campground offers a quiet escape in the heart of Sonoma County wine country, located 7 miles east of Santa Rosa off Highway 12 at the end of Adobe Canyon Road. The campground sits at 1,200 feet elevation in the Mayacamas Mountains, with 47 family sites arranged around a scenic meadow bordered by year-round Sonoma Creek. Sites feature a parking spur, picnic table, and fire ring with grill, set among oak woodland and chaparral. The park provides 25 miles of trails for hiking and horseback riding, including a self-guided nature trail along Sonoma Creek. The Robert Ferguson Observatory offers public viewing programs. Campground facilities include flush toilets, hot-water showers (coin-operated), potable drinking water, and trash collection. There are no hookups or dump station, but water spigots are available to fill RV tanks. Three ADA-accessible campsites (#6, #7, #12) are available with accessible restrooms and showers. Dogs are permitted in the campground but prohibited on trails and backcountry areas; they must be leashed at all times and kept in a tent or vehicle at night. Maximum trailer length is 27 feet; maximum motorhome length is 30 feet.
