About

Putah Canyon Campground occupies the northwestern shore of Lake Berryessa, a Bureau of Reclamation reservoir created in 1957 with 165 miles of shoreline. Located about 45 minutes from both Winters and Napa, the campground provides 160 sites spread across tent-only, standard, and RV categories. Approximately 75% of sites sit directly on the water, giving campers the ability to moor watercraft below their campsite for easy lake access. The campground is managed by Royal Elk Park Management and features a camp store, boat launch, watercraft rentals, dump station, vault toilets, drinking water, and trash service. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. Popular activities include boating, fishing, swimming, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and waterskiing. All boats must undergo inspection for invasive golden mussels before launch. Reservations are accepted during peak season from May 1 through October 1 via Recreation.gov. The campground operates year-round with first-come, first-served sites available outside the reservation window. Tent sites accommodate up to 4 people, RV sites up to 8 people. A group tent site can host up to 40 people.
