About

Storrie Lake State Park sits at 6,607 feet elevation in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, just 4 miles north of historic Las Vegas, New Mexico. The park encompasses 80 acres around a 1,100-acre lake created by a dam on the Gallinas River, offering a scenic high-desert camping experience with mountain backdrops. The campground features 45 developed campsites spread across six campground areas around the lake, with 21 sites offering electric hookups suitable for RVs. The park provides RV pull-through sites, dump stations, restrooms with showers, and a visitor center. For those seeking a more primitive experience, first-come, first-served camping is available along the lakeshore with ample space and direct lake access. Storrie Lake is a popular destination for water-based recreation including boating, fishing, and windsurfing. The park maintains boat ramps and offers excellent opportunities for bird watching along the shoreline. A group picnic shelter, playground, and well-maintained facilities make it suitable for family camping.
