About

Links Tract Campground, now officially known as Davis Willow Campground, provides free primitive dispersed camping in the Pecos Ranger District of Santa Fe National Forest. Situated at approximately 8,500 feet elevation in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the area offers solitude among mixed conifer forests near the upper Pecos River watershed. The campground is reached by traveling 16 miles north of Pecos on NM Highway 63, then one mile on Forest Road 646. Facilities are minimal: a single vault toilet serves the area, and a few fire pits are scattered throughout. No potable water is available, and campers must pack out all trash. Quiet hours are enforced from 10pm to 7am. A three-vehicle-per-site limit applies, and dogs must be leashed at all times. Horses and horse trailers are not permitted. The primitive nature of this site makes it best suited for tent camping and smaller camping setups rather than large RVs.
